We need your help South Tyneside! We’re in unprecedented times – we’ve seen a 310% increase in demand at our food bank over the last 6 months with over 8,000 local people helped so far

Big shout out to West Boldon Post Office – who are supporting our Harvest Festival Appeal this week – we really appreciate your support! ❤️ They ordered 100 extra Chronicles to sell and donate the full cover price of everyone sold to the food bank.

We asked you to share what Harvest means to you… Here’s lovely Lucy, aged 7, giving thanks with a special Harvest Prayer that she wrote at school 😍
She was especially keen to get involved with our Harvest Festival as mam, Marie, now heads up the team at our food bank, so Lucy’s also learning about how those going through tough times are provided for…
A big shout out to everyone at Epinay School – thanks so much for your generous harvest donations – you’ve done us proud!!❤️

It’s not too late if your school/church/business could host a harvest collection – we’d be happy to pick-up if that would help!
Welcome to our Festival Messy Church in the Boldons – aka Rev Paul, Emma and Maisie from St George, East Boldon. Here they are, talking about the origins of Harvest Festival and sharing a special Harvest story – definitely one to watch again with the kids when they get in from school!. A huge thanks guys for your support this week.

Big thanks to Mark, James and the team at Morrisons South Shields for their contribution of lots of lovely fresh 🍌and 🍆 to our Harvest Appeal 🍁🌽🚜 It’s been a busy old week (as usual) at the food bank. Our amazing volunteers are working their little socks off! Sadly, as fast as donations are coming in, they’re flying straight off the shelves due to the unprecedented times. Pls help us plug the gaps by donating food or financially ❤️

Here’s one of our (many) local heroes and supporters, Charlie Fennelly, who provides nutritious fresh produce direct from his allotment to plates around South Tyneside. His contribution helps families in South Tyneside ‘get their greens’ on a regular basis – well done Charlie!! 🥕🍅🥔

❤️ We couldn’t let the week go by with out a HUGE shout-out to our incredible team of volunteers, past and present, who work so tirelessly, all year round, to help struggling families put food on the table ❤️ They’ve certainly worked their socks off this week – as fast as donations are coming in, they’re flying off the shelves again due to the unprecedented demand – hence our Harvest Appeal to keep stocks replenished. In the last 6 months we’ve seen a 310% increase in demand at the food bank, with over 8,000 people fed – this just wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of these guys (only some of whom are pictured)👏👏😍
To everyone who has donated, contributed to our Community Harvest Week. A BIG THANK YOU. So – we can continue to help & support so many in our community now and in the future.
